if i build you up like god
what happens when you come crashing down?
will i still believe you have angel wings
if you're stuck here on the ground?
should my faith be paramount
if you're without any divine power?
i grew up devout by God
so why do i bow to a coward
Breathe
Don't take him from me
I won't let him go
Breathe
Six weeks isn't enough
I won't give him up
Breathe
Give me a sign
A movement of chest
Breathe
My life for his
My dreams I'll give
Breathe
Hear my plea
Grant me a chance
Breathe
A flicker of life
The return of hope
He breathes.
Meal Out
"What are you waiting for? Get on with it, can't be sitting here all day." He nodded toward the waiting meal.
"It's twitching."
"They do that, don't worry about it. Are you going to start or not?" His shoulders hunched, gaze fixed on his companion. "I don't know what I'm going to do with you. I take time out of my busy day to show you the best spots, and you just sit there complaining."
"Don't give me that. You're only doing this because the boss told you to." He shook his quickly, trying to look away from the waiting meal. "It's twitching, mate. Can't eat what's twitching. Not right."
"Dumb lump. Tastes best fresh. Yo
I watch, nightly, from the shadows as she moves through her world, laughing, smiling, flirting with those around her. I allow it, allow them a moment to move in the circle of her light, but she is mine – MINE.
Forgive me, it is never easy to allow her such liberties, and yet for the time being it must be so. She is not ready to leave this world, this sparkling place, to join me in the darkness…in my world.
Soon though, I have waited almost too long as it is and it hurts, tears me within, to be without her.
Sometimes, when I reach out from the shadows to brush my fingertips through her hair, I swear that she sees me. Perhaps
Little girl with the broken heart
Can't you see you're a work of art?
You're beautiful inside and out
This I know without a doubt
Little girl with the burning eyes
I see through your veil of lies
I can tell you're not okay
I see you struggle every day
Little girl whose tears run black
You've survived every attack
You've lived through the abuse and pain
You've faced everyone's scorn and disdain
Little girl whose tears run red
Painted with the angst and dread
Bleeding deep within the hurt
Thinking "what's all this misery worth?"
Little girl with the cut up arm
I know how much words can harm
You hurt yourself so others don't

Violet Lightning
1.
Violet lightning pulsed
between the clouds.
I wondered how much
electricity was trapped
within my ribcage.
2.
Pulse, flash;
pulse, flash.
Thunder roars with
pride and it
starts to rain.
3.
I have never seen a
soaked umbrella look so
shapely before. All black coat,
bright hazel eyes that scream
so softly under dripping mascara.
4.
Our first date is traditional,
which is odd because I'll soon
find that neither of us are that
type. The dinner was too cheap
and the movie: too expensive.
5.
We held hands the whole time;
she kissed my cheek in the cinema's
private artistic darkness.
6.
